Joe Gonzalez can look at stars 10,000 light years away from the observatory he built in his backyard near Clarksburg, W.Va.
That's about 58 quadrillion miles, said Gonzalez, who thinks there's a good chance that some life form out there is looking back at him.
"I believe there's life all over the universe," he said. "I'd hate to think we're it."
